Speaking about that truth worthy of belief reminds me of the word, “believe” which appears around 150 times beginning in Matthew and ending in Revelation; in the gospel of John about 98 times and this is key to understanding what is required of us regarding salvation. The good news which is directed to us without distinctions like, Jew and Gentile is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1–4. Note the 3 things we are directed to “believe” first, and second, Christ’s death and his burial according to the scriptures, and third and last Christ’s resurrection. Salvation is not a process, but an event and this is entirely the work of God. We are saved by grace through faith, and not by works of righteousness that we have done. God has done all of the work, and God deserves all of the credit.
